Additional Information
21-40S110, Tryptic Soy Agar: Also known as TSA or Trypticase Soy Agar, Tryptic Soy Agar is used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms. This medium can be used for a wide variety of purposes including maintenance of stock cultures, plate counts and microorganism isolation of a range of specimens. It is also used for testing bacterial contaminants in cosmetics. The addition of blood can be used for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by various bacterial species. The addition of Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) and/or Lecithin, is used for environmental monitoring. Lecithin and Tween 80 are used as neutralizers to inactivate disinfectant residue. The addition of Penicillinase will inactivate antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins. MOLTOX® does not provide microorganisms for testing. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery. For Research Use Only.
