Lactobacillus ∙ Leuconostoc

Lactobacillus and Leuconostoc are gram-positive facultative anaerobes that have the ability to produce lactic acid. While Lactobacillus is found in the microbiota of many sytems in the body, Leuconostoc is widely found in the natural environment such as farm fields. They are both widely used in food production.
